Dr. Vince Tong completed his medical school and Family Practice residency at the University of Western Ontario. Prior to moving to Vancouver in 2004 to begin his practice at Aquarius Medical Clinic, he worked in rural Southwestern Ontario. He runs a full service family medical practice and has a special interest in pediatrics. When he is not busy working he loves to spend time with his family and he has interests in the automotive world.
Dr. Sharlene Kolesar completed her Medical School and Family Medicine Residency at UBC before joining us at Aquarius Medical clinic. She focuses on Family Medicine and cares for patients of all ages. She has a young family and enjoys spending her free time with them.
Originally from Halifax, Nova Scotia, Dr. Redding earned a Bachelor of Science from St. Francis Xavier University before receiving a Master’s in Medical Science and a Medical Doctorate Degree from the University of Calgary. She completed her Family Medicine Residency at the University of British Columbia and is a member of the College of Family Physicians of Canada. Dr. Redding practices family medicine with a focus on women’s health. Having completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Practical Dermatology from Cardiff University, Dr. Redding has since incorporated primary care dermatology into her practice.
Dr. Chan has always called the west coast his home. He completed his undergraduate degree at the University of British Columbia in Honours physiology. He attended medical school at UBC at the Victoria campus. He spent two years in Calgary for his residency training in family medicine before the allure of coast lines and fresh seafood brought him back home. Outside of the office, he enjoys being active and spending his time with his wife and children.
Dr. Linda Jando established Aquarius Medical Clinic in 2002 and became the Medical Director. She began as a full time, full service family doctor with a special interest in Women’s Health. She has since transitioned to part time clinic work, as she also works as a surgical assistant (at Lion’s Gate Hospital), a university professor (UBC Faculty of Medicine), and a Medical Consultant for film/TV.
Dr. Lipkowitz received her medical degree from the University of Manitoba in 1984 followed by an internship at McGill University. She practices and teaches family medicine in Vancouver and is a Clinical Assistant Professor, department of family practice, UBC. After so many years of practice, she continues to enjoy and feel blessed to share with so many families in their health care.
Dr. Kristin Zahynacz obtained her MD from Queens University and then returned to BC to complete her residency in family medicine at St. Paul’s Hospital. She has since worked in Family Practice, maternity care and addictions medicine in various locations in Vancouver. She has worked at Aquarius since 2008. She enjoys teaching and is a clinical instructor with the family medicine residency program at UBC. Outside of work she enjoys cycling, cooking, and exploring Vancouver’s food scene.
Dr. Joy Qiao attended medical school at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver. She completed Family Medicine residency in Calgary, where she subsequently practiced as a Family Physician for 2 years before moving back to Vancouver to be reunited with her family, friends, and sushi. In her spare time, Dr. Joy enjoys travelling around the world, trying new restaurants, and going on long walks with her husband and puppy.
Dr. Laura Riley grew up in Calgary but was lured by the ocean out to BC for university and medical school and has never looked back. She is a full service Family Practioner, and works as a maternity doctor. In addition she works Connecting Pregnancy groups at BC Women’s Hospital and teaching medical students at UBC.
Dr Sangeetha Nadarajah is a Board Certified Family Physician holding a certificate from the College of Family Physicians of Canada and a certification from the American Board of Family Medicine. She completed her residency training at Southern Illinois University where she practiced rural, hospitalist and emergency medicine. She specializes in Integrative Medicine, Trigger point therapy and women’s health. Her interests include evidence-based yoga as medicine research, integrative aesthetics, a deeper dive into food as medicine, and completion of her culinary medicine certificate (first doctor in BC to compete!). Dr. Sangeetha is also an accomplished classical Indian dancer (Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi) who has completed her Arangetram under Guru Geetha Yogendran at Narthanalaya Centre for South Asian Arts and her 200-hour Vinyasa teacher training & Yin Yoga training.
Dr Arnold Sikhakhane obtained his MD in South Africa. He obtained his CCFP degree in Canada and moved to Canada with his family in 1993. He worked in Yorkton, Saskatchewan, Steinbach, Manitoba and in Corner Brook, Newfoundland, but he got tired of all of the shovelling snow and long winters and finally packed and moved to Vancouver in 2008. He has a special interest in Hospital Medicine. To break that monotony, he also enjoys Family Practice, especially walk-in clinic work. He enjoys the outdoors and is an avid runner and cyclist.
Dr. Melissa Martins completed her Undergraduate Degree in Life Sciences at the University of British Columbia. She completed Medical School in the Caribbean and in the U.S. She completed her Residency Training at the University of Toronto and returned home to Vancouver to practice at Aquarius Medical Clinic. She practices Family Medicine with an interest in Urgent Care and Pediatrics. She enjoys hiking, spending time outdoors, and travelling during her spare time.
